This week in Caterpillars Class we…
- The children got stuck in with the messy play activities this week. They loved this spaghetti sensory tuff tray where they were looking for the different fire numbers.
- They also enjoyed ‘saving the house.’ Using pipettes and syringes to squirt water over the ‘fire’. They loved exploring the different textures.
- We worked on our gross motor skills, as the children practised their throwing /aim by trying to knock down the fire cups.
- We have been looking at different fire alarms /extinguishers and other fire related items.
- Some of the Caterpillars have been working on their writing skills. We talked about different words that were associated with fire and we started to show how we would write them.
- The children got creative making their own fire in the house.
We talked about how fires may start, things around the house that are hot and the children had fun using the Stop, Drop & Roll technique!
