This week in Caterpillars Class we…
- This week our theme has been the Colour Monster. We have been reading the book to the class and talking about the different emotions in the book.
The children got very creative when making their own clay monsters. They moulded the clay to how they wanted and then added different features such as their eyes, arms and legs. - We explored what happens when you use pipettes to make cotton balls a different colour. They saw how they change colour but also the cotton balls started to shrink.
- The children also tried ‘blow painting’. They really liked having a fun new way to create marks on the paper. We talked about the different colours that were available and how they linked to the emotions in the Colour Monster Book.
- Outside in the garden we had a painting activity to explore. The children loved using the sponges and the rollers on the floor to see what kind of marks they would make.
- We made our own Colour Monster Soup. We had different foods linked to the colours of the Colour Monsters. They mixed them together in different bowls to see what would happen and the colour they would go.
