This week in Caterpillars Class we…
- This week we have been looking at Bonfire Night. We created our own firework collages. The children worked on their fine motor skills by cutting and sticking different materials onto the paper.
- We had some fun messy play activities with cornflour. In the cornflour different letters were hidden and the children used their hands and tweezers to pick out all of the letters in their names.
- The children created fruit rocket kebabs, they looked at different pictures of firework rockets and copied the design to make their own. We also talked about healthy eating and how fruit can be a yummy alternative to sweets.
- Outside in the garden the children made their own splatter firework painting. They loved flicking the colours across the paper, having competitions with each other to see how far they could throw the paint.
- The children have been looking at different colours and shapes and how to create different patterns. Each child picked a design that they wanted to create. They counted how much of each colour and rearrange them into the pattern they could see.
