This week in Caterpillars Class we…
- This week we have been looking at ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ The children made their own trolls using different materials and air dry clay. They painted and added gems to them to make them unique.
- With the gems, the children have been looking at different patterns and moving the gems to match them. This has been very good for their fine motor skills and their pincer grip.
- We have been exploring new types of textures this week. The children loved playing with the Oorbeez. Looking at the different colours and the new textures to feel.
- We have been using tweezers for a lot of different activities this week. One of them being looking at the ocean and picking out the rubbish that was in it.
- To go along with our trolls we made our own bridge for the goats to have to cross. First we saw how long we could make this bridge before it broke and then we made it a bit harder by using the tweezers to pick up the lolly sticks.
