This week in Caterpillars Class we…
- This week we have been doing lots of arts and crafts for Mother’s Day. The children each made a gift for them to take home by planting some sunflower seeds. We spoke to the children about what sunflowers look like and how big they can grow. They all decorated a little pot for their flower to grow in and we talked about how to look after the seed and help it.
- We have been looking at the children’s number recognition. We played a game where the children had to pick a number between 10 and 20 at random and recognise the number either the numerals or counting up the dots. They then used a template to create the dots and count them out onto the ladybird. The children loved being able to select their own numbers and learning new numbers.
- The children have really enjoyed the supermarket role play area. We had some real fruit and vegetable for them to explore. The children worked on their pencil grip by writing the prices onto each different item as we went through them on the checkout.
