Ladybirds Class Newsletter – 13/3/2026

This week in Ladybirds Class we…

  • This week the children have been looking at Ramadan and what the celebration entails. We made Ramadan cookies in the shapes of stars and moons. The stars represent guidance and the moons represents a new beginning. The children loved being creative and decorating the biscuits with their own designs.
  • The children have been doing lots of activities in the lead up to Mother’s Day on Sunday. Each of the children decorated a pot for them to plant a sunflower seed in. The children loved talking about the different stages the plant will go through before the flower will show. We also talked about how big a sunflower may grow and how to care for it.
  • The children also created bracelets using different beads. This activity helped the children to work on their counting as they counted each of the beads they placed on their bracelet and the development of their fine motor skills. They enjoyed picking the colours of the bracelets and choosing what beads would go on them.
  • For our window display, the children made moon sun catchers. They used their motor skills to rip the tissue paper into different sizes shapes and stuck them onto their template using different types of glue.
