This week in Ladybirds Class we…
- This week with the World Cup starting we have been celebrating by doing lots of related activities. We made paper mache footballs and the children loved spreading the glue over the balloons. We spoke about what kind of games involve different balls and what they look like.
- We also had a look at flags from different countries that are in the world cup. We looked and identified the different colours on the flags and then each of the children picked one that they wanted to draw.
- The Ladybirds loved the small world football pitch. They took it turns to use the different characters to move the balls around. Once someone scored all the children shouted GOAL!!
- We made pizzas to share. We had lots of different toppings and the children chose what they wanted to add to the 2 different pizzas.
Both classes sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed the pizzas together. It was a lovely way to spend the sunny afternoon. - We had an ice cream shop role play area this week. The children really enjoyed ‘making’ different ice-creams for each other so much that we then did an ice cream tuff tray. They used lots of different tools to move the ‘ice cream’ onto the cones.
