Caterpillars Nursery Newsletter – 17/10/2025

This week in Caterpillars Class we…

  • We enjoyed looking at and using the remote controlled mice to help with our directional instructions. Learning left and right and how to operate different controls.
  • Caterpillars class loved our space topic this week. We have been looking at the planets and making our own. Using different paints and coloured sand to create different textures.
  • The children made their own space rockets using junk modelling. They loved being able to select the shapes they wanted and working out how to stick them together.
  • We have also been looking at numbers by counting and sorting out moon rocks. We sorted them by size and by colour and began looking at different patterns.
  • We have been working on our fine motor skills by threading cheerios onto pieces of spaghetti.
  • We have looked at Diwali. We made clay tea light holders and celebration cards. We also read different books about the celebration.
  • Outside the children worked as a team to make their own rocket out of blocks.
