This week in Caterpillars Class we…
- This week we have been continuing our topic of dinosaurs. The children loved exploring this messy dino tuff tray with slime and mud. We encouraged the children to use lots of different descriptive words such as gloopy and rough to describe the textures.
- We have continued working on our scissor control. The children loved this rescue the dinosaurs activity. They had to use their scissors to cut through the different materials & wrap around the dinosaurs.
- We also played dinosaur Bingo. This was to help with the children being able to identify different dinosaurs by their individual features and names. We focused on looking at the familiar letters in the dinosaur names and the children looked at who had letters in common with them.
- We have also been looking at different flowers and their textures. The children made a flower collage using different types of flowers. They used their senses to explore the flowers through touch and smell before cutting them up into smaller pieces and sticking them down.
- We have been doing lots of dinosaur letter games this week. The children have really enjoyed being competitive and looking at different letters. This encouraged the children to recognise letters by their shape and also how they sound.
