Ladybirds Class Newsletter – 24/4/2026

This week in Ladybirds Class we…

  • This week we celebrated Earth Day. The children did some puffy painting using different coloured shaving foam & balloons. They mixed the different colours & the balloons to create their own earth pictures.
  • We did a ‘collect the rubbish’ tuff tray. We spoke to the children about the importance of our environment and how we can all keep it clean. They loved using the nets to collect all the rubbish.
  • We have been looking at the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Learning about all of the different foods he ate and how the caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly.
  • We have been looking at our colours and the butterflies. We did a focused activity for the children to work on their gross motor skills by throwing the beanbag onto the correct colour butterfly wing.
  • On Thursday it was St. George’s Day. We made shields & went searching around the garden for the dragon. Once we found it we scared it away & made the nursery all safe.
