Ladybirds Class Newsletter – 26/6/2026

This week in Ladybirds Class we…

  • This week the children have been looking at motorbikes and different types of vehicles. We really enjoyed looking and completing the photo puzzles of the different bikes. We spoke about the colours of them and the different features to understand the differences and similarities of them.
  • This week has been extremely hot and the Ladybirds loved cooling down by splashing their feet in the water trays. It was a different way to still keep their body moving and staying cool at the same time. We gave them different instructions such as ‘can you splash a little bit?’ to work on their listening and attention.
  • Out in the garden the children painted one of the tyres. We spoke about what colours they were using and what happened when you mixed different colours together. They used different tools such as sponges and brushes to see what kind of marks they made.
  • The children became builders, using their own ‘cement’ which they made using sand and cornflour to stick the bricks together. We then balanced different objects on them to see who had built the strongest wall.
  • For the world cup this week the children made guacamole. They used tools such as forks and a lemon squeezer to mash the avocado and then followed the instructions of what they needed to add. Once we had done that each of the children tried some and we spoke about how they would describe it.
